Origin: Chera= family name

Founder: Baljit Kaur

Background: In 2010 Baljit had a tough time finding an elegant and classy dress for prom. So after many unsuccessful trips to various malls Baljit decided to design her own dress. She had been designing dresses as a hobby for many years so it did not take long to come up with a design. After buying the fabric Baljit found a seamstress to bring the creation to life.

Since then Baljit was inspired to start a business online and sell classy and elegant dresses. In 2011 she decided to start Chera and it took one year to get everything ready from designing the website, contacting suppliers, inventory and much more. Fast forward to 2012 and Chera is ready for the world. Quality, affordability and design are Baljit’s main focus areas. She designs all the dresses and has fabulous suppliers working their magic to bring them to life.

Although Chera is still in its developing phase our goals are to create dresses that are accessible, creative and unique and treat customers with the utmost respect and care that they deserve. These are just a few of our long list of goals. Our mentality at Chera is to dream big, take risks and follow where fate takes us and that is essentially how Chera first began.
